History
CustomRF was
founded in 2003 when Philips Semiconductor
closed its RF design center in Maynard, MA. This presented an
opportunity for Heinz Bachmann, Mark D'Amato and Harry Woodell, former
employees, to acquire Philips' assets in Maynard, including a test lab,
simulation tools, and a suite in Clocktower Place. In other
words, everything needed by an engineering company offering electronic
design, development and test services, systems as well as
circuits, analog as well as digital.
In 2004 Mark and Harry left CustomRF, and Heinz carried on, for a while
as a side business, but now again as a full-time occupation. Today
CustomRF owns the simulation tools and a very rudimentary lab, and
through partnership arrangements has access to test equipment as needed.
